How do I enter the competition?

  1. Read the competition instructions and eligibility found on The Challenge & Prizes. Sign up for the competition or log in using your Student Competitions' account.
  2. Apply to The New School for Public Engagement online no later than April 1, 2015.

How will sharing my video affect my result in the competition?

One finalist will be selected solely based on the number of views and number and quality of comments on YouTube the video receives. Share your video and let your friends help you to reach New York City.

Am I accepted into my chosen bachelor's program if I win the competition?

Yes, we will only chose winners that have applied to The New School (application should be received by The New School no later than April 1, 2015)
and who have been offered admission to The New School for Public Engagement.

Who will judge the competition?

Student Competitions is involved in the first selection process where 20 finalists will be chosen. The winners of the scholarship prizes will be selected by representatives at The New School for Public Engagement.

What are the recommended browsers to enter the challenge?

The latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari, as well as Internet Explorer 10.

What can I win?

One full-tuition scholarship or one partial-tuition scholarship to New School for Public Engagement.

Can I enter the competition as a team?

No. We only accept entries from individuals. The scholarships and iPads are awarded on an individual basis.

Does the scholarship cover housing and other living expenses?

The scholarship covers tuition and fee charges only and does not cover housing, living expenses or food plans.

Am I eligible to enter the competition?

What does the competition and screening process look like?

Am I eligible to enter the competition if I am a current student
at The New School?

No. You are unfortunately not eligible to compete if you are currently enrolled as a student at The New School.

How can I prepare for the video?

You cannot prepare for the video, but there is no time restriction for completing the video. You have until the deadline of the competition to finish your video submission, so take your time creating it.
